With ongoing pandemic restrictions, Taekwondo practitioners worldwide are turning toward online competitions (live and via video submissions), especially in sport poomsae.  Online training opportunities have become abundant and more referees than ever before are expanding their skillset.

Our referee chair, along with the Alberta Taekwondo Association, is offering our members a free online sport poomsae seminar aimed toward referees, coaches, and athletes, to be held over Zoom on the weekend of January 9-10, 2021, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm MST each day.  The focus will be on current sport poomsae rules (as per the WT), scoring criteria, correct techniques, physical practice, and scoring practice.  Whether you are a ref, a coach, or an athlete, you are welcome to attend, regardless of where you’re from.  Alberta referees will achieve sport poomsae judging credentials, along with the opportunity to officiate at upcoming poomsae events.
